BraveWave OCD Camp 2025

"Bravewave Summer Camp is a launching summer 2025! Our summer camps will pack a lot of fun and growth for kids and teens (ages 8-17) with OCD into a week! We can't wait to meet you and welcome you into our community.

Bravewave Summer camps will combine creativity, connection and clinical treatment (evidence-based exposure and response prevention, or ERP).

The camp will feature daily ERP sessions alongside fun activities and group projects designed to help campers build meaningful connections with one another. It will be personally led this year by the founders of BraveWave Collective (Dr. Welch and Ms. Cui, faculty partners at the University of Washington) along with a team of psychiatrists, clinical psychologists and therapists, and young adults who have lived experience and success with ERP treatment and thriving after an OCD diagnosis.

We plan to offer a Counselor in Training (CIT) program for youth who have had success with ERP treatment and hope to give back to other kids and teens and be part of the vibrant community of people who are thriving (not just surviving) with OCD!

Bravewave Summer Camps are a collaboration with the International OCD Foundation, Bravewave Collective in Seattle, and Jack Mental Health Advocacy.

In 2024, OCD Washington, a state affiliate of the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF), secured a seed grant from Jack Mental Health through their Plant a Camp initiative and partnered with IOCDF to create Bravewave Camp—a therapeutic camp designed for children and teens with OCD and their parents. OCD Washington will partner with Bravewave Collective, LLC, an organization dedicated to helping create innovative, connecting and healthy means for individuals with OCD and related disorders to access high quality mental health services, support, and be part of a community of individuals thriving with or without OCD!

At Bravewave Camp, we are deeply committed to helping kids and teens from diverse cultural backgrounds access high-quality therapeutic activities, build coping skills, and connect with peers who truly understand their experiences. We also aim to foster a sense of community by creating opportunities for campers to give back, help others, and grow together.

Bravewave Camp operates as a non-profit, made possible only through the generous support of local businesses, sponsors, and donors like you. Your contributions—whether through donations or providing essential supplies—make a profound difference in helping us carry out our mission. Every dollar counts in creating a space where children and families can thrive!"
